About the Right Track Project
The Right Track Project is one of only 16 programs funded by
Department of Labor and is designed to provide at-risk youth
with a clear pathway to employment in a high growth industry. Our
program has served over 200 youth since its inception and has
proactively addressed the issues of creating self sufficient
youth in our community. In Colorado Springs, it can cost $160
per day to place an individual in Spring Creek, the local youth
correction facility. These costs can significantly be reduced
if we are able to help them find and develop a career.
The Right Track Project provides opportunities for youth to
gain the skills necessary to become self sufficient and aims
to empower youth to create a positive future for themselves.
Youth are offered these skills through a variety of components
offered through The Right Track Project.
The main areas of focus are:
- Vocational Skills
- Life Skills and Self Advocacy
- Education
The primary objectives of the program are to:
- Equip youth with the skills necessary to obtain and maintain
employment
- Encourage self advocacy and development of life skills
- Ensure an educational plan is in place
- Partner with local businesses in order to better train and
employ our youth
